Robert Chestnutt Obituary

Robert Gerald  Chestnutt (85) passed peacefully at his home with his family , on Dec. 14, 2020.

Robert was born to Darrell and Leona (Brown) Chestnutt on August 18, 1935 in Green County Pennsylvania. Robert grew up McKees Rocks, PA where he lived until he moved to Ashtabula when he married Celeste (Masters) in 1960.  He retired from A&B Dock and then later from B&B Precision Tool Company.

Robert was a member of Mount Carmel Church. He was a member of the Sons of The American Revolution.  He had a passion for genealogy. He would spend hours researching his ancestry and  helping others research theirs. Bob enjoyed watching the Indians baseball team, seldom missing a game on the TV. But most of all, Bob loved his grandchildren and following their activities.  He could be found anywhere from a wrestling mat, football game, basketball court, soccer field, band or choir concert, theater stage or pageant audience following one of them. For the last 10 years, Bob resided with his daughter and her husband in Geneva.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Celeste (Masters), his brothers, Edgar, Darrel and Kenneth Chestnutt, his sisters Virginia Hanze and Leona Chestnutt, and his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Roberta Horvath (Brett) of Geneva, and his grandchildren, Andrew Horvath (Jennifer Hall), Julie Horvath, and Robert Horvath, and a sister, Suzie Herman of Mckees Rocks.
