Richard Malin Obituary

Richard Douglas Malin, 69 of Ashtabula passed on March 24th 2021 at home.

Born May 25th 1951 in Warren, OH. He was the son of Robert and Wanda (Quigley) Malin.

Rick graduated from Hubbard High School, class of 1969 and received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science degree from Youngstown State University. On May 27, 1978. He married the former Barbara DiGiacomo in Ashtabula. He is retired as a supervisor from Ashtabula County Children Services.

Rick was a well-known Ashtabula area runner. If you knew Rick he was funny and entertaining by just being himself, good or bad. He just always wanted to make you laugh, very outgoing,  and did not let things easily stress him out.

After he retired he lived with a simple happy everyday routine that worked for him and his dog, "5", his faithful buddy.

He loved all Cleveland Sports Teams including the Browns, Indians, Cavs, and Ohio State Football.

He was a faithful friend to many and will be sadly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Barbara "Bobbi" DiGiacomo Malin, son Travis Malin of Madison, WI, daughter Jordan Malin of Walton Hills, OH and of course "5". Cousin Debbie Masora of Brookfield, OH, Sister in law and Brother in law Carl and Patty Stauffeneger of Ashtabula, OH and Nephew and Niece Scott and Mayu Stauffeneger of Japan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
