Paul McNally Obituary

Paul Edward McNally, 70, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on September 6, 1954, in Tucson, Arizona, Paul lived a life rooted in deep connection, unwavering devotion, and spirited joy. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Chris Brigham-McNally, whose love and partnership were the foundation of his later years. Paul was a proud and loving father to Lindsay (Greg) Coffman of Latrobe, PA, and Brittany (Carl) St. Angelo of Ashtabula, OH. Of all his roles in life, being “Papa” was his greatest joy — his grandchildren Hannah, Madison, Austin, Brielle, and Mia were the lights of his world.

Paul is also survived by his siblings Constance A. (Harry) Smith, Pamela D. (Steven Kunselman) McNally, Susan B. Melaragno, John J. (Shannon) McNally II, Mary T. McNally, sister-in-law Diana Brigham, and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruth McNally; his brothers, M.Sgt. Ret. Thomas M. McNally II and James P. McNally; and his brothers-in-law Edward Melaragno, Joseph Cusano, and Robert Brigham.

Paul served in the United States Air Force and was honorably medically discharged. Though his military service was brief, it marked the beginning of a lifelong commitment to service — most notably in the recovery community, where he walked in integrity and compassion for 29 years, touching and transforming countless lives.

A true craftsman, Paul had a passion for woodworking, a love for cooking (especially during his chef apprenticeship), and a deep appreciation for family gatherings. During NASCAR season, you could find him cheering on his favorite drivers with a plate of something he’d cooked with love. His quick wit, infectious humor, and generous spirit never wavered — even in the face of ALS, which challenged his body but never touched his heart or spirit.

Paul will be remembered for being fiercely loving, endlessly supportive, wonderfully silly, and deeply proud of his family. His presence made the world a little kinder, a little funnier, and a whole lot more human.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated team at Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care, and to Hospice of the Western Reserve for their tender support during Paul’s final chapter.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday June 3 at 7P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home with Father Phillip Miller officiating. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
