Nancy Leng Obituary

Nancy Chiacchiero Leng was born in Ashtabula OH on June 19th, 1920, to her parents Concetta and Joseph Chiacchiero. She was the eldest of 5 siblings who grew up together in a close-knit family.

Nancy was preceded in death by her first husband Anthony Perugine, who passed in 1961. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Edie Prisco, Mary Canzonetta, and Jennie Lupo. In 1968, Nancy married her beloved husband, Kenneth Leng, who preceded her in death in 1992.

Nancy is survived by her loving daughters, Lois (Dennis) Jarvi and Patricia (Ken) Frisbie. She leaves behind her grandson, Jason (Heidi) Frisbie, and her great-grandchildren Madeline and Liam Frisbie. She will be missed as well, by brother Anthony Chiacchiero as well as several special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nancy graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1937. She began her working career primarily at Richardson’s shoe store; she was renowned for her impeccable customer care. During WWII, she worked building bayonets to support the American troops. In 1973, Nancy graduated from Kent State University and started her teaching career. She was a fixture in Ashtabula Schools for 25 years; she was an amazing teacher with a steadfast love for her students and their learning.  She was a member of several community organizations. Of all her accomplishments, Nancy was most known for the way she looked after her family. She loved family gatherings and always celebrated holidays joyfully. She was quick witted, always up to date on current events, and she loved to travel.

She was the eldest member of Our Lady of Peace Mount Carmel.

Nancy’s family would like to thank the Sanctuary of Geneva for their love and care during Nancy’s final days. Additionally, they would like to thank the Hospice of the Western Reserve Ashtabula for their expert care, compassion, and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nancy’s memory can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve Ashtabula.
