Obituary

Lyle T. “Joe” Simmons Jr. (81) of Ashtabula passed on April 14, 2023 at Hillcrest Hospital.

Born Dec. 1, 1941 in Ashtabula he was the son of Lyle and Elizabeth (Lane) Simmons.

On Oct. 1, 1960 Joe married the former Nan Hamilton in Ashtabula, He retired from Molded Fiber Glass after 35 years of service and was a member of Lilly of the Valley Church

Survivors include his wife Nan Simmons, sons Theron Simmons , Shane Simmons , daughter Wendy (Randy) Johnson , grandchildren Theron Simmons Jr. ,  Robin Simmons , Joshua Johnson , Miranda Johnson , great grandchildren Emma ‘Rae Johnson , Mallory Johnson , and a sister Edith Marrison .

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Robin Simmons, brother Jack Simmons, Tom Acker, Leon Merrit, and sister Patricia Dick.

Funeral service will be on Wednesday April 19 at 11:00 A.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula with burial to follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
