Lucille Madeline Licata (85) of Ashtabula passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday June 5, 2018.
Born Nov. 2, 1932 in Ashtabula she was the daughter of Nicholas and Carmel (Fasula) Vocca.
A resident of Ashtabula her entire life. Lucille graduated from Ashtabula High School class of 1951 and on Aug. 8, 1953 she married James J. Licata in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with a reception at Sons of Italy. She was retired from Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and St. John School where she worked in the cafeteria and the library for over 30 years.
Lucille enjoyed theater productions, was a member of the Ashtabula Arts Center-Good Life Singers, Our Lady of Peace Parish Choir, the Alter and Rosary Society, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Moms and Dads Club, and Sons of Italy of America Anita Garbaldi Lodge. She was involved in all things involving Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church including the annual Feast and Procession.
She donated her time at Catholic Charities, Mom loved cooking and gathering family and friends together for a meal, Lucille had a quick wit with a lot of humor.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years James J. Licata, children Carmella and Michael Gardner, Lawrence and Cyndi Licata, Ronald and Kimberly Licata, Marian Licata, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and brother Donald Vocca.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Angeline Felix, and brothers John, Thomas, and Francis Vocca.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday June 9 at 9:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 7 P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula.
