Louis J. Matrisciano

Louis J Matrisciano, age 95, of Ashtabula, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home on April 13, 2022_. He was born May 11, 1926, the son of Louis and Michelina ( Mattarochi) Matrisciano.

Louis was a member of Our Lady of Peace, Mount Carmel Church. He was a proud altar

attendant and devoted eucharistic minister. Louis was a veteran of the United States Army

stationed in the European Theater during World War II. He was awarded two bronze stars. He

was honorably discharged.

Louis was employed at the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company for over 40 years as a

lineman. He enjoyed a lifetime of golfing, winning the Ohio Senior Open, twice. Louis was a

member of the Sons of Italy #1169 and the Knights of Columbus Ashtabula Council 360. In later

years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycles throughout the Tri State area.

In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his first wife of forty-five years, Anna

Margaret, who died in 1994, his siblings, Fred, Dominic, Joseph, Anthony, Pasquale, Rudolph,

and Anne.

He is survived by his wife Joanne, his four children, Linda (David) Krauza, Sally (Ronald) Molly,

Marianne (Thomas) Sintic, Louis Matrisciano, four stepchildren, Loretta (John) Valentic, Joan

(Charles) Clancy, Joseph (Jacqueline) Kane, Mary Enrico. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren,

David, Steven, Jennifer, Christopher, Jenna, Julie, Jason, Michael, Christopher, Sydney and

Samuel, Dominique, Chad, Kristy and Cassie, and sixteen great grandchildren.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday April 18, at 1 P.M. in Our Lady of Peace, Mount Carmel Church, 1200 East 21  Street with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard Team from post 103.  Visitation will be on Monday morning from 11:30 to 12:30 at Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 west 19th St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004 or Our Lady of Peace Parish, 3312 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula,Ohio 44004.
