Kathleen Welty Obituary

Kathleen Violet Welty passed away on April 27, 2021. Born in Ashtabula ,

The daughter of Michael and Violet (Gosmer) Paulik  . Kathleen was a graduate of Edgewood High School, She always spoke with enthusiasm when talking about school and the friends she grew up with.  She especially enjoyed and excelled in her Drama classes.  She had the lead role in many school plays: "Magnificent Obsession and Riders to the Sea".

After High School Kathleen worked at Carlisles Dept. Store in Sales. This suited her perfectly because of her love of people.

Kathleen was a fan of movies especially classics. She was thrilled to meet one of her favorite actors, Bette Davis years ago.

She loved Cleveland Sports teams and was proud of not being just a " fair weathered fan".

Her talent and ability for college and a career in the arts was certainly possible after graduating.  Her path fortunately led her elsewhere.

Kathleen married the Love of her Life,  James L. Welty on July 25, 1959 in Ashtabula, Ohio.  For 54 years their marriage was a very special story.

She was a home maker that lovingly cared and provided for her family without compromise.

Kathleen was known for her warm and caring personality .  Her generous nature and willingness to help others in time of need was her most endearing quality.  For so many years, her home was the place for friends to drop in and enjoy her and her family's company.

Kathleen loved her family unconditionally, and loved them to be close to her. She was always proud of their accomplishments.  In later years, she adored her grandchildren and developed special bonds.  She affectionately became known as "Grama Kat".

She enjoyed cooking and was known for her Italian sauce and pizza along with her pastries enjoyed by many.

Kathleen was a  daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, and friend . She will always be remembered and sincerely missed by those who loved and knew her best. Kathleen was a member of Mount Carmel Church.
