November 9th, 2020, Joseph William Goudy, 76, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving wife of 54 years Madelyn (Solembrino) Goudy, children and grandchildren after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. Joseph was born in Ashtabula, Ohio, February 8th, 1944 the son of the late Jay N. and Lillian (Lang) Goudy. Joe was a proud Veteran of the U.S Army serving a tour in Chu Lai Vietnam. He was employed at True Temper in Saybrook and Worthington Cylinders in Jefferson. He is survived by a sister Patricia Whitcomb and brother Roger (Christine) Goudy. Loved and remembered by his children Jay (Tammy) Goudy, Jodi Goudy-Burns and Joseph (Joanne) Goudy II. He will always be remembered by his grandchildren Jay (Karli) Goudy, Nicolle (Nick) Sturtevant, Cody Goudy, Brandon Goudy-Burns, Joshua (Star) Burnett, Wendie (Ryan) Spangler, Hollie Nieves, Jenne aka Rebel (Kyle) Brown and 14 Great Grandchildren. Joseph loved his Cleveland Indians and Browns football. He spent many years on the Cederquist Park Baseball field coaching his 3 children and made sure family always came first.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday Nov. 14 at 10:00 A.M. in Mother of Sorrows Church with entombment to follow in St. Joseph cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard Team from post 103. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 7 P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula (Please wear a mask and social distance). Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
