Joseph Dominic Cellitti, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and dedicated public servant, passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born in 1966 to Joseph and Dolores (Guerra) Cellitti in Ashtabula, Ohio, Joe was a proud graduate of St. John High School. He began his career as a skate guard in his youth and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University before graduating from the police academy.
For over three decades, Joe served the Ashtabula community as a police officer, starting as a Deputy Sheriff for Ashtabula County and continuing with the Ashtabula Police Department retiring in 2016. Most recently, he worked as a resource officer at Lakeside Middle School, where he was a comforting presence to students and staff alike.
In 2021, Joe fulfilled a lifelong dream by becoming a part-owner of Piero's Pasta House, where he joyfully cooked alongside his daughter Kaylee. His passion for cooking and bringing joy to others was evident in everything he did. Joe cherished family gatherings, filling the room with food , laughter and love.
He is survived by his three children, Kaylee Cellitti (Shannon Slezyak), Kristi (Daniel) Beachy, and Katelyn Cellitti (Lukas Hinkle), along with his three cherished grandchildren, Lillianna Van Loocke, Daniel Beachy IV, and Harper Hinkle. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Elizabeth (Gary) Capitena and Joanna (Paul) Daniels, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dolores Cellitti; his uncle and aunt, Eugene and Elizabeth Cellitti; and family friend, Mary Martison.
Joe's unwavering dedication to his community and family will be deeply missed. His legacy of service, love, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
