John Enricco Obituary

OBITUARY

John M. Enricco, 78, of Ashtabula, Ohio, peacefully passed away on June 4, 2026.  He was born on Dec 14, 1947, in Marseilles, Illinois, to Master Sgt. Jesse and Anna (Marchuk) Enricco.  He graduated from Harbor High School in 1967 and worked at RMI Metals Reduction Plant for over 20 years until it closed in 1988.  He also worked for 25 years at Ashta Chemicals until his retirement.  He met people he really liked at both plants and enjoyed his work.

John loved being a Little League coach for all his sons’ baseball teams. After each baseball season, he would make a big cake in the shape of the team's uniform to celebrate the season whether they won or lost. He also held a 4th of July picnic every year for family and friends for over 30 years where good food, softball, volleyball, and fireworks were enjoyed by all.

He was proud of his sons and attended all their sports and music activities while they were in high school and college and later attended many sports events for his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.  John's favorite hobby was cooking and baking.  He would make dozens of cookies for his grandchildren to decorate for Christmas and made sure there were plenty of eggs to color at Easter. He enjoyed seeing everyone around the table having fun making their own unique creations.  John made the best homemade Italian wedding soup, lasagna, and eggplant parmesan, and he was famous for making his mother's Bagna cáuda on New Year’s Eve, and her recipe for poppy seed and nut rolls at Christmas.  Every holiday and birthday party included a smorgasbord of John’s pies, cookies, and other desserts and appetizers.  He showed everyone love through his cooking and baking.

John is survived by his sons John (Sarah), Raymond (Lisa), and Andrew (Melanie), and his grandchildren Leovanni, R.J., Morison, Ali, and Lakelynn, who lovingly referred to him as “Papa.”  He is also survived by his brothers Dave, Frank (Donna), and Tom (JiEun) Enricco, sister Toni, his former wife Judy Stabile (Richard), and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bob and Jesse, and brother and guardian son, Joey Silva.
