Joanne Santill Rossum (76) of Ashtabula lost her valient battle with cancer on Wednesday April 11, 2018.
Born August 31, 1941 in Geneva, Ohio, she was the daughter of Robert and Clara (Corall) Borcicky.
Joanne was a graduate of Geneva High School and attended Kent State University. She worked as an administrative clerk for the V.A. in Charleston S.C, as a para-professional for Ashtabula public schools, and briefly in sales at Sears and Walmart in Ashtabula.
Joanne was a member of Mother of Sorrows Church of Ashtabula and often attended Assumption Church of Geneva with family. Mrs. Rossum was a life member of the Elks Club and a proud 7 gallon blood donor.
Survivors include her son Fred Santill Jr. of Ashtabula, grandchildren Matthew (Caitlin) Santill, Michelle (Cecilia) Santill-Perez, and Brandon Midolo: great-grandson, Gabriel Santill, brothers: Richard(Candy), Bob ( Martha Jo), and Terry Borcicky and sisters: Janice(John )Carle, Kathleen (Chuck) Hines, Rosemary (Nick) Arrington, and Valerie (Al) Egensperger, many nieces and nephews, and step grandsons, David Cuccaro and Joseph Beres, and dear former daughter-in-law, Cynthia Cuccaro Lawrence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband David Rossum, first husband Fred Santill Sr.,and siblings Patty and Skip.
A wonderful, nurturing woman, her proudest achievements were raising her grandchildren and maintaining a cherished relationship with her siblings. Some of her favorite hobbies were landscaping in her beautiful yard, cooking wonderful food for her family and participating in walks for charity. She was also fond of searching for historical artifacts.A Funeral mass will be on Saturday April 14, 2018, 10:00 A.M. at Assumption Church in Geneva with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ashtabula. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
