Joanne Mary Kane-Matrisciano

Joanne Mary Kane-Matrisciano (89) of Ashtabula passed on Friday March 24, 2023 at the home of her daughter.

Born Oct. 15, 1933 in Cleveland she was the daughter of Paul and Mary Frances (Maczuga) Smich.

Joanne graduated from Ashtabula High School class of 1951, in June of 1953 she married her first husband Joseph Kane in St. Joseph Church. She retired from Ashtabula Area City Schools as a secretary in 1998. Shortly after retirement she married her second husband Louis Matrisciano.

Joanne was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, over the years she was in choir at Mother of Sorrows. Served as a Eucharistic Minister to the sick bound, and was a daily Mass attendee.  She cherished her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children Mary Enricco ,Loretta (John) Valentic ,Joseph (Jacki ) Kane , Joan (Chuck) Clancy , son in law Jack Reynolds ,sister Phillis Ely (Jim) , grandchildren Chad, Kristy , Cassie ,Christopher  ,Michael ,Dominque , great grandchildren Jacob , Isabella , Lilliana and Maddy, step children, Linda, Sally, Maryann, and Louie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Joseph Kane, and Louis Matrisciano, daughter Rita Reynolds, brothers Paul and Edmond Smich, sisters Maryann Dellamo and Rita Mazzatenta.

Funeral mass will be on Tuesday March 28 at 10:30 in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church 9:30-10:30.  Condolences can be made at guerrierofunralhome.com
