James ‘Jimmy’ M. Timonere, 72 

On September 26, 2023, Jim laid down his armor after a ten-month battle with brain cancer.  

Jim was born in Ashtabula on February 23, 1951, to Joe and Catherine.  He graduated in 1969 from St. John High School.  He attended Miami University, Findlay College and Kent State University.  He earned his Juris Doctorate from the Case Western Reserve University Franklin Thomas Backus School of Law.  

Jim loved practicing law, playing handball, writing poetry, loving his family, taking pictures of sunrises and sunsets over Lake Erie and being at his favorite place, Lake Tahoe. 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his devoted wife, Jane, his kids, Tony (Carly) Timonere, Stephen (Carly) Labay, Rachel (Nick) Soboslay, Cole (Amanda) Timonere, Gwendolyn (Robert) Rebera and Aubrey (Matthew) Cicero, his Grands, Loralei (Ryan), Seth, Rylee, Wyatt, Colton, Dallas, Dominic, Tommy, Connor, Teagan, Lincoln and Sebastian, and his Greats, Christopher, Andrew and Tiffiny. 

Jim also leaves behind his brother, Joey, his sister, Marianne, and his nephew, Forrest, in addition to many family and friends. 

Jim requested there will be no calling hours or services.  To honor his memory, please reach out with kindness to strangers and offer a smile to someone who could use one today.
