Genevieve Rita Balog

Genevieve Rita Balog (46) of Ashtabula passed away on October 12, 2025 after a long illness.

Born Oct. 9, 1979 in Ashtabula. Genevieve was known for her creativity, making jewelry, writing poetry and painting. She loved horses and rode ponies and horses form an early age.

Genevieve lived in Wisconsin for several years and also Johnstown Pa.

Survivors include her son Gideon Ryan of Johnstown Pa., mother Katherine Thomas Balog, step father Chris Dybo, sister Laura (Justin Osowski) Balog, any many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sister Corinne in infancy, grandparents Dorothy and W. Lloyd Thomas, and Richard and Rita Balog.

Per her wishes no services will be held, burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery in Ashtabula.
