Gary R. Larson of Cortland, OH passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019 after reaching the age of 77 years old.
Gary was born November 19, 1942 in Kane, PA to Paul and Evelyn (Almony) Larson.
Gary spent his childhood growing up in Smethport, Pennsylvania and was one of six children. Gary always had fond memories of his childhood home and all the memories that were made there with his family. Gary graduated from Smethport High School in 1961.
Gary went on to serve in the U.S. Military for the Army, and while in the army he was a cook. Gary always had a passion for cooking and baking.
In 1968, he met the love of his life, Mary Osowski. They lived together almost inseparable for over 50 years. They lived in Ashtabula most of their life and lived in West Palm Beach, Florida for 5 years as well.
While in Ashtabula, Gary worked for Reliance Electric for almost 10 years, the family grocery stores in Florida for 5 years, and then Giant Eagle in Saybrook as the Bakery Manager for 21 years.
Gary was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. Gary cherished his grandchildren more than anything in the world. Gary had four grandchildren he loved to spend time with. Gary was a selfless man who always thought of others first.
For the last two years Gary lived in the Gillette Nursing Home in Cortland, OH. Gary loved to stay in touch family and friends and would often call to talk to them sharing great times of their life. Gary loved solving Sudoku puzzles and putting together puzzles for family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, children Melissa Larson, Mindy (Larson) Rizzo; brother Tom Larson; sister Marlene (Larson) Zetwick; brother-in-laws Stanley Osowski, Rodney Zetwick, bister-in-law Lucile Larson.
Mr. Larson is survived by his loving wife Mary (Osowski) Larson of Cortland, OH; son Shawn Larson (Dana) of Cortland, OH; grandchildren Mari and Mikayla Rizzo, Anthony and Nicholas Larson; brothers Larry Larson (Florence), Charles Larson.
sister Susan McCracken (Dave), and sister-in-law Bev Larson. A host of nieces, nephews, and beloved family and friends.
