Frank D. Spano, a longtime resident of Ashtabula, Ohio, took his final train home on April 4, 2026. He was born in Ashtabula to Frank Gabrielle Spano and Lena (Solembrino) Spano.
Frank was a man defined by his work ethic and his unwavering faith. He dedicated many years of service to the railroad, a career he spoke of with pride. As a devout Catholic, he lived his life with a deep appreciation for his Italian heritage and a commitment to the values of his upbringing. Known for his gift of storytelling, Frank never missed an opportunity to remind those around him that family was the most important thing in life.
He is survived by his brother, Anthony Spano; his children, Frank R. Spano , Mary F. Spano; and his daughter-in-law, Gina Devito-Staub. His legacy continues through his two grandchildren, Frankie and Anthony Spano, and his great-grandson, Matteo V. Spano. Frank will be deeply missed by his family and the many friends and neighbors whose lives he enriched.
Funeral service will be on Tuesday April 14 at one p.m. in Guerriero Funeral Home with Father Phillip
Miller presiding. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 11:30 till 1 at the funeral home.
