Felipa Santiago

Felipa Santiago, 84 of Ashtabula peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family September 27,2022. Born in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, Fela has been an Ashtabula resident since 1969.
Fela had worked at MFG and Kingwood nursery, but the job she loved the most was being a homemaker for her husband and son.
Fela married Angel Santiago Sr. On October 2,1970. They were just days away from celebrating their 52 wedding anniversary.
Fela enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, shopping and Merle Norman cosmetics.
Her passion was family and taking care of everyone. Fela and Angel were known for loving family and strangers as their own children, often taking them in. Her pride and joy’s were her grandchildren and most resent member her first great granddaughter Amelia.
Fela is survived by her husband of 51 years, Angel Santiago Sr. of Ashtabula, son Angel (Ericka) Santiago of Ashtabula, grandchildren Kayla (Mark) Nellenbach of Mayfield Heights, Brandon Santiago of Utica, step grandchildren Alexis Bryan, Shianne Bryan and Jeanelle Bryan all of Ashtabula, great granddaughter Amelia Nellenbach of Mayfield Heights, sisters Efijenia Ortiz and Delores Rosario along with brothers Eugenio Rosario, David Rosario, Alberto Rosario and Jose Cheo Rosario.
Fela was preceded in death by her first born son, parents Eugenio and Pauline Rosario, sister Sarah Rosario, Angela Rosario and brothers Benjamin Melendez, Nestor Melendez and Isaias Rosario.

Funeral service will be on Friday at 6 P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home , 1550 West 19th St. Ashtabula , with Father Raymond Thomas officiating. Private burial will take place in St. Joseph cemetery.
