Eleanor Cecelia (VanBuren) Nelson

Eleanor Cecelia (VanBuren) Nelson, age 85 of Ashtabula, Ohio passed away April 12, 2021 at the Saybrook Landing in Ashtabula.

She was born Aug. 22, 1935 in Garfield Heights, Ohio the daughter of Maurice Harvey and Leona Catherina (Young) VanBuren.

Eleanor loved her family, bingo, and crafts. She was always crafting something new. Making gifts for everyone. She lived seeing their smiles over the unique pieces she made for them.  She enjoyed a good time with whomever she was with, a drink, a laugh, and yes her gummy bears. She was free spirited and a child at heart. Adventurous (said she was never wrong cuz it was always her sister’s fault).

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gene VanBuren, daughters Sandra Jean and Charlene Mae Stillwell, son Ellis Patrick Stillwell Jr., grandsons Joey Vazquez and Jamie Loveland, and great grandson Nick Tennyson.

Survivors include her sister hazel Washburn of Newark, N.Y., children Virginia (Tim) Braden of Windsor, Ohio, Heidi Heath of Geneva, Ohio, and daughter on law Joan Stillwell of Holliston Ma. , 12 grandchildren,

Numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral service will be on Saturday April 17 at 1 P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. she will be laid to rest at in Greenlawn Memory Gardens following the service. Visitation will also be on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until 1. Memorial contributions can be made to the family. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
