Elbert Alan Forinash (90) of Saybrook Twp. passed on Feb. 20, 2020 at the Geauga Medical Center.
Born Dec. 18, 1929 in Cleveland West Virginia he was the son of Novel and Della (Castro) Forinash.
Elbert was a veteran of the United Sates Army and in September of 1950 he married the former Joan Reed. He was a pitcher in minor league baseball playing in the Washington Senator organization, He also managed several sandlot teams. Mr. Forinash retired from General Electric Medical Supply after 30 years’ service. He also worked on the family farm.
Survivors include his wife Joan Forinash , daughter Linda Champlin , sons Len (Char) Forinash , Jeff (Roberta) Forinash , 11 grandchildren , 21 great grandchildren , 4 great great grandchildren , brother Bill (Diane) Forinash and several nieces and nephews .
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dana Forinash, grandson Joshua Forinash, great granddaughter Gabrielle Collins, and son in law Ron Champlin.
Funeral service will be on Thursday February 27 at 11:00 A.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula with burial to follow in Saybrook Cemetery. Visitation will be also Thursday morning from 10 to 11. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
