Dolores (Candela) Peura

Dolores Candela Forinash Peura (93) passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025

While death is a natural course of a life, her daughter, Deborah McElroy, and her son David Forinash, son-in-law Jim, and granddaughter Lauren are still saddened and heartbroken.

Surviving Dolores also are her stepchildren Lynn (David) Pontius, Lois (Ron) Fritchen and Jim Peura, grandchildren, Adam (Nicki) Pontius, Kaitlyn Pontius, Meadow Pontius, Greg Fritchen, great grandchildren Luke and Mila Pontius and many nieces and nephews.

Those who preceded Dolores include her parents, Joseph and Rose Candela, sisters Rose Gouhin, Tomassina Mauro, and Jean Meola as well as her first husband Dana Forinash and her second husband Richard Peura.

Mrs. Peura was retired from Ashtabula City Schools serving as secretary of Harbor High School.

We wish to offer deepest and sincerest thanks to the staff of Villa at the lake in Conneaut, Ohio and the staff of Hospice of the Western Reserve. The care and attention to her and for her was total quality all the way.

Funeral service will be on Tuesday at 5 P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 to 5. Burial will be private.
