Colleen Martino Obituary

Colleen Ann (Doyle) Martino, age 82 of Ashtabula/Saybrook Township passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Ashtabula County Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She was born August 13, 1939, in Fairport Harbor, the daughter of Felix and Edna Doyle has been an Ashtabula area resident most of her life. 

Colleen graduated in 1957 from St. John High school where she held the honor of being their first May Queen. She spent much of her life as a full-time mother devoting endless hours volunteering at her children’s schools and was a member of the Harbor High School Booster Club. She was an avid sports fan whether it be watching her favorite teams on television or attending her children and grandchildren at their various events. Colleen later worked at The Spot Café, Nationwide Insurance and retired from ASHTA Chemicals in 2010.

She was a proud mom and grandmother always made her family a priority. Her enjoyments included cooking and making that something special that she knew you loved which to all who knew her admired her talent and giving nature.  She was brave, strong, determined earning her the nick name of “Mamma Sass” and will be missed by all who knew her

Survivors include four children, Michelle (Gordon) DeLaat, Tina (Nappi) Martino who reside in Texas and Lisa (Alec) Raffa, and Anthony (Michelle) Martino of Ashtabula; She was blessed and adored by her 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Martha DeCamillo, Donna Sjostrom & Thomosina Otto.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Saybrook Landing and Ashtabula County Medical Center for their care and compassion.

A memorial service to honor Colleen life will be held in the near future. Memorial donations in her name can be made to Saint John School, 7911 Depot Road, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
