Charles Franklin Yahraus (93) of Ashtabula pass quietly on Sunday September 12, 2021.
Born May 8, 1928 he attended Willoughby Union High School and immediately after graduation enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. and served in WWII. He was chosen to fly to Washington D.C. with many of his comrades to observe the WWII Memorial. He was proud of serving his country as a Marine.
Charlie was a friend to all. He retired from Happy Hearts bus garage. Before that He was a mechanic at several car dealerships, the last one being Cobbledick Buick and Oldsmobile and a fine mechanic he was.
Charlie was a member of Our Lady of Peace, Mt. Carmel, VFW 943 and American Legion Post 103 where he served both as Chaplin in his younger years.
Survivors include his daughter Linda (John) Paolillo, his loving grandson Chad (Jacqui) Paolillo, three great grandchildren Dominic, Sophia. And Lucianna Paolillo , step daughter pam Coates, 2 step grandchildren Kathleen and Tim Drum and a nephew Joe (Kathy) Coltri and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Carolyn Yahraus, his mother and step father Ruth Tuthill and John Yahraus, a niece and a sister.
Funeral Service will be on Friday at 1:30 P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. with burial to follow in Oakdale Cemetery, were military honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard Team from post 103. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12: to 1:30
