Charles Cusano, 76, passed away at Jefferson Healthcare on December 21, 2022.
He was born at home in Ashtabula, Ohio on September 4, 1946, the son of James and Florence (Lane) Cusano.
He was the father of six children, grandfather of seven and a great grandfather to two.
Charles was a dedicated father, friend, brother, son, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family over a meal he prepared himself. A common favorite was his famous fried bread dough. He also loved to cook food to share at work. Charles looked forward to hunting and fishing with his son, brothers, and nephews. He was a great provider, and hard working in all roles. If it was with words or his hands, he always had a way to fix things.
Charles was an esteemed employee of Ashtabula Rubber Company, where he retired from in 2004, after 35 years of employment.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Florence Cusano, siblings Lucy Belmonte, Louise Wilson, Jim Cusano, John Cusano, Larry Cusano, Mary Svendsen and Joe Cusano.
Charles is survived by his children, Chuck Cusano of Florida, Stephanie (Jon) Glotzbecker of Jefferson, Sabrina (Mike) Andrew of Conneaut, Samantha (Steve) Kennedy Sheffield township, Daniel Cusano of Conneaut, and Nicholas (John Irwin) Cusano of Ashtabula. His grandchildren, Claire Glotzbecker, Kaydence Kennedy, Danielle Glotzbecker, Abigail Kennedy, Colton Kennedy, Hunter Cusano, Dusti Naugle, and great grandchildren, Nixie Naugle and Dallas Cusano. Siblings, Joann Rager of Tonowanda, NY, Beverly Stokes, Bill Cusano, Roy Cusano all of Sheffield Township and Richard Cusano of North Kingsville , and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral masss will be celebrated on Tuesday Dec. 27, 2022 in St. Andrew church at 11:00 A.M. with burial to follow in Gageville Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 5 to 7 at Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
