Carolyn A. (Bookwalter) Yahraus

Carolyn A. Yahraus (90) of Ashtabula passed on Aug. 19, 2021 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.

Born Nov. 11, 1930 in Cleveland she was the daughter of Carl and Francis (Manning) Bookwalter.

Carolyn attended the Ursuline Academy High School in Cleveland, and was retired from the cafeteria of the Jefferson Area Schools.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish where she served as a Eucharistic minister and was long time member of the Lake Shore Artists.

Carolyn excelled at art and ceramics, winning the Best of Show Award at the Canfield Fair. She was also enjoyed bowling and camping.

Survivors include her husband Charles Yahraus , daughter Pamela Coates , grandchildren Kathleen and Timothy Drum , niece Donna Morris , nephew Edward Bookwalter , step daughter Linda (John) Paolillo , and long time friend Dorothy Nugent.

She was preceded in death by her parents , sister Marie Preston , and brothers Jack and Robert Bookwalter.

Visitation will be on Sunday Aug. 22 from 1 to 3 with funeral service at 3 in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
