Arlene D. (Mero) Niemi

Arlene D. (Mero) Niemi of Ashtabula, passed away on April 26, 2024, at the Ashtabula County  Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Arlene was the daughter of John and Beatrice Mero and was born on June 11, 1948, in Ashtabula , Ohio.

Arlene attended Harbor High School and worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Altier, Dr. Kondru and various local physicians in the Ashtabula area until her retirement.

Arlene was proceeded in death by the love of her life Donald and her parents. Her survivors include her children: Kami (Deb Gravley), Tara (Bob Foltz), Shannon (Rick Roberts), Donny (Bobbi Jo Rodgers), and Courtney (Chris Matteucci). She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Lucia and Lydia Mozzocco, Haley Niemi, Jacob and Karsyn Davidson and Jaxon Niemi.

Arlene enjoyed going to casinos, attending car shows with her husband , Don, and going to both her children's and grandchildren's sports activities. One of her favorite things to do on a weekend once the summer season began was people watching while she sat on a bench outside of Eddie's Grill at Geneva-on-the-Lake.

Arlene's family would also like to thank the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice of the Western Reserve for their support and care of their mother in her final days.

Funeral service will be on Thursday May 2, 2024 at 7:00 P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula with Father Phillip Miller officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 till  7. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
