Anthony Henry Candela

Anthony Henry “Body” Candela (80) passed away on Thursday Dec. 26, 2024.

Born Dec. 22, 1944 in Ashtabula he was the son of Philip “Tarbaby” and Aune (Lehto) Candela.

Anthony graduated from St. John High School class of 1962 . After graduation he entered the United States Army and served in Thailand during the Vietnam War. Years later after returning back home , He was employed as a Corrections Officer at the Ashtabula County Sheriffs Department where he later retired.

Anthony enjoyed shooting pool but he had a passion for golf and enjoyed being on the course with family and friends.

One thing about Anthony “ He meant what he said.”

Survivors include his sisters Phyllis McElwain and Stephanie Petro along with two nephews and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents , grandparents , and his infant niece , Valerie Ann Petro.

Private family service will be held and burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
