Simone M. Close (83) of Macedonia and formerly of Ashtabula passed on Sept. 4, 2026 .

Born Oct. 12, 1942 in Brooklyn , New York she was the daughter of Angelo and Mary (Santilli) Pirrello.

Simone graduated from Ashtabula High School class of 1960 and on Aug. 2, 1969 she married David L. Close in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.

Mrs. Close was retired from Ashtabula Area City Schools.

She enjoyed traveling, gardening, hosting parties, and class reunion activities.

Survivors include her sons Vincent Close , Andrew (Kelly) Close, grandchildren Tyler Close , Abigail Close , Sarah Close , and sister Marcy Dudas.

She was preceded in death by her parents , and her husband Dave.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday Sept. 11 at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish , Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with Father Conner Hetzell officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. Ashtabula. Condolences can be made at guerrierofueralhome.com
