Robert C. Ray (89) of Ashtabula died on Saturday morning at the Lantern of Madison.

Born April 18, 1927 in Ashtabula he was the son of Anthony C. and Pearl Ray.

Robert graduated from Edgewood High School class of 1944 and was a veteran of the United States Navy. On July 17, 1948 he married the former Gloria Secchiari in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Ashtabula.

Mr. Ray was retired from National Engineering as a construction foreman. He enjoyed golfing.

Survivors include his son Tom (Sally) Ray of Jacksonville Fla., daughter Gail Durkin of Omaha Neb., grandchildren Bethany (Sean) Reichard, Amy Henderson, Robert (Jamie) Ray, Sean Durkin, Time (Megan) Durkin, great grandchildren Lauren, Katherine, Sean, Luke, Jack, William, and Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gloria Ray , sister Dorothy Carroll and brother Cosmos Ray.

No calling hours will be observed.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with Father David Bridling officiating, burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers , Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
