Nicholas J.
Schepis
Nov 16, 1958 — Jul 16, 2026
Mayfield Hts.
Nicholas J. "Nick" Schepis, age 67, passed away peacefully with his family on July 16, 2026, following health complications. Born on November 16, 1958, Nick was a lifelong Northeast Ohio resident. He was raised in Lyndhurst, Ohio, where he graduated from Brush High School. He continued his education at John Carroll University, earning his bachelor's degree before attending The University of Akron School of Law. Shortly after beginning his legal career, Nick founded his own law practice in Mayfield Heights, where he faithfully served his clients for decades. He built a reputation as a knowledgeable, skilled, and dedicated attorney who fought tirelessly on behalf of those he represented. Above all else, Nick was a devoted father to his only child, Nicholas R. Schepis and treasured the time they spent together throughout his life. He was also a devoted and loving son to the late Philip J. Schepis and Katherine L. Schepis. Nick possessed a remarkable intellect and an endless curiosity. He seemed to know something about nearly everything. Whether discussing the law, science, history, music, mechanics, or countless other subjects, he approached life with enthusiasm and a genuine love of learning. He was the kind of person who could paint a beautiful picture, rebuild and tune a motorcycle, passionately argue a case in court, and help reunite a lost dog with its owner - all in the same day. Outside of his profession, Nick found joy in the things he loved most: motorcycles, classic rock, guitars, fishing, hunting, dogs, and classic films. Those who knew him will especially remember his incredible sense of humor. Nick had a natural ability to make people laugh and could effortlessly become the life of any room. His quick wit, unforgettable stories, and larger-than-life personality left lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to know him. More importantly than anything he accomplished, Nick will be remembered for the lessons he passed on through his wisdom, humor, resilience, and generosity. His impact on the lives of his family, friends, colleagues, and clients will continue long after his passing. Nick is survived by his son, Nicholas R. Schepis; his former wife, Renee E. Schepis; and his daughter-in-law, Alicia J. Schepis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip J. Schepis and Katherine L. Schepis. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
