Maria (Mary Lou) DeCola Alston (51) of Ashtabula died on September 5, 2017 at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.

Born March 14, 1966 in Ashtabula she was the daughter of Lucia DeCola.

Maria loved her family and friends and was a very kind, caring person. She loved having family and friends for get-togethers, barbecues, decorating her house, shopping and music.

Survivors include her long time love Chris Turner , children Shawn DeCola , Nicole DeCola , Tameka (Dwayne) Temple ,  Kevin Alston , David Alston , numerous grandchildren , nieces, nephews , brothers Joe (Wanda) DeCola , David (Cynthia) DeCola , Nick DeCola , sisters Mary Tobias , and Joanna (Bill) Scheidel.

She was preceded in death by her mother Lucia DeCola and her father.

Memorial service will be on Sunday September 10 at 5 p.m. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula with Minister Hester Spikes of Dlim Christian Center officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 to 5 at the funeral home.Memorial contributions can be made to the family Care of Mary Tobias
