Margaret M. Stefanelli (93) of Ashtabula died on Tuesday afternoon at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 18, 1923 in Ashtabula, Ohio to Louis and Josephine (Alfonse) Bernardo.

After graduating from Ashtabula High School in 1941, she worked at Kidner Brothers and Kilker's Grocery Store. She then married Anthony Stefanelli on April 29, 1948. they built a home on Avondale Ave. with their only child , Renee.

Margaret enjoyed cooking, baking, drawing, painting, refinishing furniture, baseball, old movies and tv shows, Especially westerns, Most of all she loved being with he family, especially being involved in her grandsons' lives.

She was admired and loved by all who knew her for her wit, kindness, compassion and selflessness.

She is survived by her daughter Renee and son-in-law Anthony Scardino, with whom she made her home; grandsons, Paul Scardino of Winchester, Va., and Jeffrey (Angelle) Scardino of New York City; great granddaughter, Millie Scardino of Windhester, Va. and numeraous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews,

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband , parents, siblings, Lena Narducci , Elvira DeChurch , Elizabeth Mauro , Grace Noce , Delores White, Ann Billy , Ralph , Angelo , Peter, and Henry Bernardo; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday Oct. 29, at 1 P.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish , Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with Father David Bridling officiating, burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday morning from 10:30 A.M. to 12:30 at Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 west 19th St. Ashtabula.

the family would like to thank the nurses and aides from Bella Care Hospice (formerly Tridia Hospice), esespecially Lilly Santiago , Veronica Klugh , Chirs Baker and Daryl Nazor, who have been with her these past few years.
