Lois Marie Carlo (86) of Ashtabula,Ohio died on Thursday afternoon February 9, 2017.

Born Jan. 25, 1931 in Conneaut, Ohio , she was the daughter of Leo and Elsie Church. Lois and Phil were married in 1950 and celebrated 66 years of marriage last year.

Lois enjoyed gardening and mowing on her 2 acres of land. She wasn't afraid of the DR Trimmer, chainsaw , large ladder , or snakes and mice. She worked along side of Phil in the garage pulling engines and keeping the garage and tools organized. She took care of rental properties they had; doing repairs , painting , and cleaning , She loved a big fire in the burn barrel and bonfires. Lois enjoyed family picnics with her Conneaut cousins , Christmas dinners when she made raviolis and celebrating January birthdays with beef stroganoff.

Survivors include her daughter Sue(Bob) Altonen of Ashtabula , son Rick (Jean) Carlo of Geneva , granddaughter Stacey Altonen of Ashtabula , grandson Steven (Erin) Altonen of Morrow Ohio , great grandchildren Elliott, Madeline, Ethan and Finn Altonen,  best friend of 71 years Betty Wolcott of Anderson, South Carolina .

She was preceded in death by her parents , husband Phil Carlo in 2016, brother and sister-in-law Gene and Mana Church , and cousins.

Funeral service will be on Monday Feb.13, 2017 in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula at 11:00 A.M. with Elder Bill Lawrence of Community of Christ, Kirtland Ohio officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 4 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences at guerrierofuneralhome.com
