John M. Woissol (71) of Ashtabula died on Wednesday morning at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.

Born May 29, 1946 in Long Beach Ca. he is the son of Michael and Helen Woissol.

John was a professional painter for over 45 years and he enjoyed fishing and going to dinner and for coffee with friends. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his children John M. Woissol Jr. , Bryon (Jamie) Woissol , Bobby (Kim) Hopson , Stacy (Gerald) Williams , mother Helen Knight , grandchildren Hailey and Joanne Woissol , Kayla , Kelsey , and Bryan Woissol , Bobby Hopson III and Hannah Hopson , Whitney Rodriguez , Jeffery Williams , Nashelle Williams , Kiyana Williams , Amber (Javaris) DiMare , Amanda Auxier , great grandchildren Bella Greggs , Annaliese Auxier , Alexis Auxier , Ameriie Auxier  ,Jasper DiMare , Gizelle Rodriguez , brothers Michael (Pat) Woissol , Paul (DeAnna) Woissol , Joseph (Mary) Woissol , sisters Hope Randolph and Sue Lyons

He was preceded in death by his father, wife Shirley A. Woissol, and daughter Cheryl Hopson.

Funeral service will be on Monday at 11:00 A.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula, with Greg Housel officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
