John J. Soltis (90) of Ashtabula died on Monday morning Jan. 9, 2017 at his home.

Born March 17, 1926 in Conneaut, Ohio he was the son of Andrew and Anna (Fobean) Soltis.

John graduated for Conneaut High School class of 1944 and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Europe during WWII.

He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1986 with over 30 years' service.

Survivors include his wife since 1988 Jane Soltis , daughters Janice (Jack) Eanni , Carol (Ed) Davis , step daughter Kim Vesey , grandchildren Ember (Ben) Tichenor , Joshua (Angie) Gordon) , Jessica (Tony) Calabretta , step grandchildren Ryan (Andrea) Stevens, Stephanie (Drew) Jones , Patrick Vesey, Sarah Vesey , great grandchildren Jordan and Alyssa Tichenor , Ashley and Nathan Johnson , Jack Calabretta , step great grandchildren Matthew , Kaitlyn , Christopher Stevens, and Warren Laravie.

He was preceded in death by his parents , first wife Jean Soltis , brothers Albert, Edward, Bernard , Thomas, Lawrence , Raymond , Robert , Joseph , Paul , and Adam Soltis , sisters Mary Soltis , Helen Soltis , and Dolores Sedor , stepson Leslie Vesey , and son in law Charles Sheldon.

Burial committal service will be on Wednesday Jan. 11 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Greenlawn Memory Gardens with Father David Bridling officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army.
