Frances (Fran) Domenico Smith passed away on April 30th, 2019. Born to Jennie (Alberts) and Fred Domenico on April 24, 1924. Fran was raised and educated in Brooklyn, New York. On a blind date in Ashtabula she met her late husband, Lewis Carl Smith Sr. whom she wed on April 11, 1953. Fran belonged to Our Lady of Peace Parish (St. Joseph's Church) where she served as a CCD teachers aid, was a member of the Woman's Guild, assisted with weekly Bingo and the dessert table at the Fish Fry. She also was active with the Swede Town Girls, The Lebanese Club and Women's Auxiliary. Through her very dear friend, Doris Farello, she became a Hospice Volunteer. She is preceded in death by her husband Lewis Carl Smith Sr. and her son Michael Dana Smith. She is survived by her children, Lewis Smith Jr., Fred (Renee) Smith, Traci (Doug) Warren, Jenny (Chris) Hughes, adopted children Mary (Luke) Sawicki, and Catherine Trenn. Grandchildren – Lewis (Shannon) Smith, Bryan (Nicole) Smith, Nicholas Warren, Justin (Elizabeth) Warren, Freddie Smith, Ave Warren, Aaron Warren, Amy Hughes, Alec Warren, Noah Hughes, Doug Warren, Mariana Hughes, Patrick Hughes, Amanda Sawicki, Sabrina Sawicki, Thomas Sawicki, Megan (Mat) Hritz, Tricia (Mike) Luce, and Great-grandchildren Logan, Parker, and Lilly Smith, Bryan, Tyler, and Cooper Smith, Gabriel and Lena Warren, Alden Lowe, Catalina Pantoja, Kaleb, Chase, Zoey, Alice, Paxton, Erza, and Felix Hritz, Claire and Rowan Luce. Nieces and nephews Patricia (Tom) Cooney, Durene (late Craig) Burns, Norman Domenico, along with several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday May 3 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Joseph Church with burial to follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Visitation will also be Friday morning at the church from 9 to 11. Condolence can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
