Edward Charles Moore, the son of Annie Lois Crosby and Lincoln Charles ("L.C.") Moore, was born March 15, 1953, in Louisville, Mississippi. He attended the Church of God in Christ, where he accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. Chapman in Ashtabula, Ohio. His athletic gifts manifested early in his life, and he put those gifts to use during his time at Ashtabula High School. By graduation in 1971, he'd collected championship trophies in football, wrestling, and track and field. He was as adept at riding horses as he was at riding motorcycles. If sports were his first love, music was certainly a close second! Groups and bands were his favorites; he kept the house filled with the funk of the Ohio Players and Parliament, the harmonies of the Emotions and the O'Jays and the Emotions, and the melodies of Cameo and DeBarge.

Charles had a big heart, an easy laugh, and a kind spirit. He also had plenty of old-fashioned common sense, sense and a fierce devotion to his sisters which came in handy when advising them how to defend themselves: "There's no such thing as a 'fair fight,'" he would tell them. "'Fair' and 'fight' don't even belong in the same sentence!" He often spoke of his love for his grandparents, the late Baxter and Lillie Crosby and the family values they provided. Charles made his transition on April 21, 2025. Preceding Charles into heaven were his parents LC Moore and Annie Lois Crosby, his brother Shaggs Rush, and his sisters Lillie Kate Brawner and Hilda (in infancy). He leaves to cherish his memory his son Seanell Adams and step-father Willie Gene Carter, both of Ashtabula, OH; his sisters, Lorene Carr of Chicago, IL, Martha Anne Moore of Indianapolis, IN, Royalty Benjoseph of Ohio, "Big" Ruby Godwin, "Little" Ruby Glenn, Elizabeth Pollard—all of Mississippi. His brother, Hershey ("Daveen") Rush, also of Mississippi. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, grandchildren and great-grandchildren from both sides of Charles's family will continue to hold him close in their hearts and minds.

Funeral service will be held on Friday May 9 , 2025 in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula at 12:30 with Pastor Emory Moore officiating. Visitation will be on Friday morning from 11:00 to 12:30. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
