Durene A.
(Domenico) Burns
Jun 2, 1943 — Dec 28, 2025
Ashtabula
Durene Burns, 82, of Ashtabula passed away on December 28th 2025, surrounded by family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and wife. She was known for her quick wit, sense of humor, caring nature and feisty personality. Durene loved to spend time with her family and friends. She loved to travel, eat good food, read, watch game shows, and was the best cook.
Durene was a devoted Catholic and an ambassador of her church Our Lady of Peace Mt. Carmel for many years as a Eucharistic minister, Lector, and member of RCIA.
Her favorite jobs were working as a bank teller for U.S. Bank and in her later years working part time for West Side Mini Storage, where she made very good friends and had lots of laughs.
Durene's main focus was always providing for her family, and had more love to give then was ever possible to receive. She always put those she loved before herself no matter the sacrifice. She was the most loving mother and friend, and her presence will be sorely missed.
Durene is survived by her two daughters Julie Terjesen- Boetger and Jenny Burns- Row, her two grandchildren Timothy Boetger and Lauren Best (husband Sean Best), and her three great grandchildren, Benjamin, Logan, and Lily Best, as well as her brother Norman Domenico.
She was preceded in death by her husband Craig Burns, mother Genevieve (Vacca) Domenico and her father Edward Domenico.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday Jan. 3, 2025 at 1 P.M. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday Morning from 11:00 till 12 : 30 at Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
