Dorothy Daniels, age 91, of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully at the Country Club Retirement Center on Friday, March 25th, 2022 with her son, Dan Daniels, at her side. She was born December 29th, 1930, in Ashtabula, and was the oldest daughter of Samuel and Etalia (Altomare) Giannelli. Dorothy enjoyed cooking homemade meals, taking regular walks, and gardening with her very green thumb. Surviving her is a son (and caretaker) Dan Daniels of Ashtabula; a sister, Marcieta Giannell, of Ashtabula; a niece, Andrea (Emerick) Lesko (husband Frank and daughter Lucy) of Mayfield Heights; and a Goddaughter, Kathy (DeGeorge) Stevens, (husband Doug) of Ashtabula. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Daniels; brothers Samuel Giannelli (and wife Lena), Walter Giannelli (and wife Georgia), and Leonard Giannelli (infant); sister Berniece Emerick (and husband Andy); nephew Sammy Giannelli; and many beloved pets. Dorothy was loved by her family and will be greatly missed. Great thanks to Country Club Rehabilitation Center and Bellacare/Hospice for all of their help and kindness. No calling hours, funeral, or burial services will be observed.
