Caroline Girard (93) of Ashtabula passed on Saturday Oct. 17 at the Country Club Retirement Center.

Born April 4, 1933 in Ashtabula she was the daughter of Robert and Sophie (DeLuia) Muto.

Caroline graduated from Ashtabula High School class of 1951 and on Dec. 20, 1952 she married Peter E. Girard in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Caroline and her husband were the owners of Girard Nursery in Saybrook Twp.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed vacationing in Florida.

Survivors include her children Christine (Gerald Wilfong) Girard , Roberta (Jeff) Forinash , Mary Ann (Lonnie) Hill , 4 grandchildren , 10 Great grandchildren , and one great great grandchild .

She was preceded in death by her parents , husband Peter , daughter Kathy Girard , grandson Joshua Forinash , and brothers Anthony and Henry Muto.

Funeral service will be on Monday Oct. 19 at 4 P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19 St. in Ashtabula with Father Francis Muriithi of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 2:30 till 4:00 at the funeral home. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com
