Anne G. Capitena (91) of Ashtabula died on Tuesday Aug. 14, 2018 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.

Born June 16, 1927 in Ashtabula she was the daughter of Ralph and Adeline (Presciano) Peterangelo.

Anne graduated from Ashtabula High School class of 1945.On June 24, 1948 she married Earl Capitena at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Ashtabula.

Mrs. Capitena was a wonderful care giver to her children ,grandchildren , mother and the community at large. She was a volunteer in the Our Lady of Mount Carmel School Library , at many church activities including festival , bishops dinners , and the choir. Anne was a 35 year volunteer at the Ashtabula County Medical Center serving in many capacities. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and it's Altar and Rosary Society, The Sons of Italy of America Anita Garabaldi Lodge , Elks Ladies Aux. , and Catholic Daughters of America .

Survivors include her children Gary (Betty) Capitena , Ron (Vickie) Capitena , Cheryl Johnson , grandchildren Kristen Cruz , Amy DuFour , Jenna Burke , Cara Young, Chad Johnson , Mallory Carusone , great grandchildren Capri , Karina, Giada, Declan , and Charlee.

She was preceded in death by her parents , husband Earl Capitena , and a brother, Joseph Peterangelo.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday Aug. 20 at 10;00 A.M. in  Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 to 7 at Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula , the family would like to thank Jane Stewart and the staff of Silver Sands for the excellent care Anne received.
