Anna Scarpitti, 72, of Ashtabula, OH, peacefully passed away on October 24th surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren after a short fight with COVID.

Anna was born in Miranda, Italy to Rosa Bellezza and Frederico Fasano on November 4, 1948.  She met the love of her life Joseph Scarpitti at a bus stop, and he just wouldn't stop pursuing her until she married him on March 27, 1965.  In 1973, Anna, with her husband and two children immigrated to America, settling in Ashtabula OH, where she lived until her passing.

Everyone who met her couldn't help but fall in love with her.  Her passion for life, cooking, gardening and most importantly her family was expressed in every part of her.  Anna's grandchildren lovingly called her Nonna, and Nonna's Kitchen was always open with everything made from scratch, and always enough for seconds.

Anna was proceeded in death by her parents, Rosa and Frederico.  She is survived by her husband of 56 ½ years Joseph, her two children Addolorata Scarpitti of Ashtabula, Ernesto (Bernadine) Scarpitti of Ashtabula, grandchildren Joseph (Bri Ferguson) Scarpitti of Brunswick OH, Nicholas Scarpitti, and Hannah Longstreet, her sister Giullietta of Miranda Italy, and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces all of whom will miss her hot pepper pizza (the recipe she took with her).

Calling hours will be Saturday October 30th, at Guerriero Funeral Home, 1550 West 19th Street, Ashtabula from 10 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a Catholic service at St. Joseph Church on Lake Avenue at 12 PM, finalizing at her final resting place at Greenlawn Cemetery, Kingsville, OH.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Joseph Church in Anna Scarpitti's name.
