Sallyann Marie Vitale (73), a life-long Ashtabula resident, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 surrounded by her family.
The daughter of Samuel and Carmel (Saturday) Vitale, Sally graduated from Harbor High School in 1964. She enjoyed watching the birds (especially hummingbirds), scratch-off lottery tickets, crocheting, and watching her "cookers" on TV. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered as the world's best grandma. Those who knew Sally will remember her laugh, wit, and fun personality.
Sally is survived by her daughter, Sherri (Lonnie) Anderson and son, Steven Cox II; grandchildren Mandi (Chris) Weaver, Brandi (Dillon) Crets, James Anderson, Steven Cox III (Sophia Gorski), and Tiffany Cox; great-grandchildren Blake Weaver, Lilly, Priya, and Faye Crets, and Gabriella and Jayce Cox. She is also survived by her sister, Lucille Parmigian, her special friend and companion, Tom Rutherford, and a niece. Sally was preceded in death by her parents.
Per Sally's wishes, no visitation will take place. A funeral mass will take place on Monday, December 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Ashtabula.
