Norleen R Paulchel

November 23, 1934 ~ February 8, 2018 (age 83)

Norleen R. Paulchel (83) of Ashtabula died on Feb. 8, 2018 at the Saybrook Landing.

Born Nov. 23, 1934 in Warren, Ohio she was the daughter of Elmer and Ruby (Bishop) Detre.

Norleen was a soft spoken, gentle person.  She never had a bad thing to say about anyone.  She spent her life taking care of her husband and family and cooking delicious meals. In her younger years she worked as a switchboard operator for Ohio Bell.  She was active in her church “Messiah Lutheran” for many years.  She was known for sending birthday cards to everyone she knew and had pen pals all over the world.  She loved to travel and enjoyed going on bus trips.  She also spent several years organizing bus trips which she called “Norleen’s Marvelous Adventures”.  In 2016 she took her last bus trip with her niece to Mt. Rushmore, a place she had always wanted to see.  She was a peaceful person in life and she died a peaceful death surrounded by family, for which they give all the glory to Jesus Christ.

Survivors include her sons Jim (Laurie) Paulchel and their daughter Kennedy, and Greg (Pam Rauth) Paulchel.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 57 years James Paulchel.
