Nicholas Bucci

Nicholas Bucci (90) of Mentor and formerly of Ashtabula died on Wednesday March 15 at the Hospice of the Western Reserve David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.

Born September 1, 1926 in Ashtabula he was the son of Nicholas and Philomena (Pizzuto) Bucci.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Myra and brothers Michael, Angelo, Joseph, Anthony, and sisters Sue Platano and Mary Burdi.

Nick was a graduate of Ashtabula High School and was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. He was a long time parishioner of Mother Of Sorrows Church and was a current member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Concord twp. where he served as a Heavenly Duster.

Mr. Bucci was employed at the Ashtabula Bow Socket before being transferred to Indiana and became plant manager at South Bend Forge. When he retired he and his wife Myra moved to Mentor to be closer to family.

Survivors include Nick (wife Colleen), Pamela, Benjamin, and Mark (wife Lori), grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Nick’s wonderful caregiving team Tammi Pecoraro, Barb Barnes and Trina Showeres for their dedication and love they have given to our entire family. We are forever grateful to them and think of them as our extended family.

Funeral Service will be on Tuesday March 21, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula with Father Melvin Rusnak officiating. Nick will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
