Michael A. Phillips

Michael A Phillips Sr, 66, of Ashtabula passed away Friday July 27, 2018 in Warrensville Heights with family by his side. He was born August 31st 1951 in Frostburg, MD to Glenn and Lucille (Creiger) Phillips. Michael enjoyed running his towing business, Phillips Towing, for 41 years. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow. He loved going on fishing trips with his fishing buddies Ron and Bonnie. He also enjoyed supporting the Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers. He was a jokester who loved telling his jokes to everyone. “I’m so old it takes me 2 hours to watch 60 minutes”, was one of his favorites. He loved spending time with his dog, Buttercup, and watching tv. On his down time he loved plying the WII with his grandchildren. He loved and supported his wife and cherished every moment he had with her. He was a supporter to every single one of his children. Michael lived a long and memorable life that will be carried on through his family. He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Britton) Phillips, children Megan (Shawn) Hoefert, Ashley (William) Fowler, Lauren (Douglas) Brummitt, Christine Phillips and Michael Phillips Jr, all of Ashtabula. 8 grandchildren Gabrielle, Ethyn, William Jr, Autumn, Mila, BrantLee, Alex and Emmett. His sister Mary Beth (Clint) Ramsey of New Mexico, his brothers Glenn (Carol) Phillips of Illinois, Leon Phillips of Geneva, and Larry Phillips of Colorado. He is proceeded in death by his parents, sisters Kathy Meola and Margaret Ann and many Aunts and Uncles. Calling hours will be held at Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th street Ashtabula on Monday July 30th from 5pm to 7pm. Services will be at 10am on Tuesday July 31st at Our Lady of Peace  , Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church 1200 East 21st street Ashtabula. Burial will be at St Joseph’s Cemetery Carpenter Road Ashtabula.
