Kathryn Helen Nelson

Kathryn Elliott Nelson died in the late hours of Friday, November 2nd from complications stemming from a heart attack she suffered twelve weeks earlier. She was born in Ashtabula Ohio on September 13th 1982. She lived here all her life. She was 36 years old. Kate was a bright, hard working, charismatic person. A driven career woman, Kate had just recently finished graduate school to become a nurse practitioner before suffering a heart attack in August. She was fiercely proud of her career as a nurse, a field she entered into after caring for her stepfather, Patrick McClure through his health struggles fifteen years earlier. She was loved by her coworkers at ACMC for her energy, intelligence, and most of all her outsized personality. She was also devoted to her family. She is survived by her son, Aiden, her ex-husband, Steve, her mother, Carlyn McClure, father, Don Elliott, and brother, Robert ( Linda)Elliott, her boyfriend Sanjay Srivastava, and her good friends Miranda Meola and Tamara Stone. To her family and friends she was a constant source of joy. Here too she was a natural leader, a constant planner of family vacations and organizer of activities. Her death leaves a hole that will not soon be filled. Services for Kate will be held at Guerriero funeral home 1550 West 19th St. Ashtabula O. Calling hours will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 6th with funeral services also be Guerriero on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. In her brief time she touched so many lives.
