Joseph B. Giangola

Joseph B. Giangola (87) of Ashtabula died on Monday morning March 13, 2017 at the Saybrook Landing.

Born March 19, 1929 in Ashtabula he was the son of Anthony and Mary (Ferrando) Giangola.

Joe was a graduate of Ashtabula High School and on Sep. 30, 1950 he married the former Lillian Sposito in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Ashtabula.

Mr. Giangola retired from the City of Ashtabula as  superintendent and was also employed with the New York Central Railroad. He enjoyed golf, bowling, traveling to Florida with his wife and going to casinos. He was very devoted to his grandchildren and great grandchildren , and attended every sporting event that they played.

Survivors include his daughters Donna (Vince) Capuano of Ashtabula , Lori (Jeffrey) Pawlowski of Ashtabula , grandchildren Jami (Will) Anderson, Jennifer (Brett) Puffer, Lyndsay (Charlie) Severino, JJ Pawlowski , and Nicole (Andy) Jepson , great grandchildren Morgan , William , Robert,  Vincent , Lillian , and a sister Carol (Tom) Johnson of Erie Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lillian Giangola, brothers Anthony, Ray and Carl Giangola, and a sister Jean Carlo.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday March 16 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Peace Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with Father Bob Lanterman officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 P.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula.
