Anthony Frank Cararo

Anthony Frank Cararo, 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2017 surrounded by family at home in Ashtabula, Ohio. He was born on March 25, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York to Frank and Mary Iannicco Cararo. Anthony grew up in Ashtabula and graduated from Ashtabula High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He worked for the New York Central Railroad and for Reliance Electric.

Anthony married Barbara Nardi in 1957 in Ashtabula, They were married 60 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, he enjoyed golf and card playing. Anthony was a member of the East Ashtabula Club and the VFW.

Survivors include his spouse Barbara, daughter Sandra Cararo of Charlottesville, VA. sons Mark (Kelly) Cararo of Gahanna, Ohio and Steven (Melissa) Cararo of Geneva, Ohio. Grandchildren Christopher and Anthony Barcomb of Charlottesville, VA. ,  Dakota , Cheyenne and Dalton Cararo of Gahanna, Ohio and Nicholas , Noah , Seth and Sara Cararo of Geneva, Ohio , Great Granddaughter Angelina , sister Lucille (Roland) DelPrince , brother Thomas (Mary) Duff.

He was preceded in death by his father Frank Cararo, mother Mary (Cararo) Duff, step father William Duff and brother William Duff III.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday July 10 at Noon in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with Father David Bridling officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery were military honors will be conducted. Visitation will be on Monday morning from 10 to 11:30 A.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula.
