Sandy Richard Orsuto

Sandy Richard “Sonny” Orsuto (87) of Ashtabula passed away Sunday Feb. 19th due to complications of a stroke at Carington Park Nursing Home.  

Born Nov. 30, 1929 in Ashtabula he was the son of Sandy and Mary (Leone) Orsuto.

Mr. Orsuto graduated from Ashtabula High School class of 1947, and was a veteran of the United States Army. Sonny retired from Morrison Molded Fiber Glass plant after 37 years of service in the shipping department.

In his younger years he was an avid golfer. He enjoyed horse racing, going to casinos, taking his daily walks, watching sporting events and was a dedicated Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Our Lady of Peace Parish.

Survivors include his sister Elaine Reda of Ashtabula and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Floyd in 2003, Robert in 2012, and Woodrow in 2014.

Many thanks to Hospice of the Western Reserve and the staff and nurses at Carington Park who took excellent care of Sonny.

At the request of the Sonny there will be no calling hours , Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula with Deacon Richard Johnson of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard Team from post 103. Condolences can be made at guerrierofuneralhome.com

In Lieu of Flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. John High School, Our Lady of Peace Parish, or the Animal Protective league.
